The ice storm that hit Vermont on Thursday, January 8, 1998 was one of the worst weather calamities in Vermont history . It took Green Mountain Power seven days, one hour, and 29 minutes to restore power to all its customers. (Matt Sutkoski, Burlington Free Press, 1/7/08)
