HEAT WAVE OF AUGUST 2002 August 15, 2002

The temperature in Burlington reached 96 degrees on August 14, 2002, tying a record set in 1947. It was the hottest day of summer and the 12th day of 90 degree weather this year. August 14 was the peak of a four-day heat wave that has sent temperatures to 93 degrees or higher every day since August 11.
